Submitted by Tom Parker on

Today, the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) has published an updated version of Code of Practice F, Part two: Deceased organ and tissue.

To coincide with the Organ and Tissue Donation (Deemed Consent) Bill (also known as ‘Dáithí's Law’) coming into force in Northern Ireland on 1 June 2023 we have published a revised Code of Practice F, Part two. The Code reflects the introduction of deemed consent for deceased organ and tissue donation for the purpose of transplantation in Northern Ireland.

This has been issued under a new set of legal Directions that establishments must follow.  Directions 002/2023  comes into effect on 1 June 2023.

We have also published the consultation which gave an opportunity for all those working in the field of organ and tissue donation and transplantation to review the revisions being made to the Code. Please find the consultation here.

The revised Code of Practice F, Part two has received parliamentary approval and  you can find the final version on our website. If you have any questions about changes to Code of Practice F, please get in touch
