Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent stakeholder survey. We’ve used the insights you shared with us to plan our engagement programme for the next year. We received feedback from across all six sectors, giving us a comprehensive view of your preferences, challenges, and support needs.

Broadly speaking people told us they were happy with our approach to engagement, including during our regulatory activity. Digital engagement was the preferred method for regular interactions with HTA, with webinars and newsletters being highlighted as particularly valuable, although there’s an interest in periodic face-to-face events. Most respondents (over half) indicated they would like to hear from us quarterly.

84% of respondents suggested they were clear about their roles; however, clear, consistent and easily accessible guidance was a priority for everyone. This included some existing regulations and Codes of Practice, which people told us could be clearer and less open to interpretation. There were some suggestions for training and support, with calls for enhanced training resources.

There were several suggestions of areas we could cover in future webinars and discussions. This included consent processes and patient/donor participation, staff training and competency standards, regulatory updates and guidance clarifications, the role of DIs, licensing requirements and sharing of best practices and lessons learned.

Based on your feedback, we’re pleased to share our engagement programme for the coming year.

We will deliver a programme of virtual activity including webinars, sector-focussed forums, and roundtables to focus on specific topics. To share good practice, we’ll publish case studies in both written and video format.

We understand your concerns about finding information easily on our website, so we will be converting our twelve most downloaded guidance documents to HTML to improve accessibility and findability. We’ll also run six themed social media weeks which will signpost to key sector guidance.

We will be refreshing our approach to updating our Codes of Practice, before starting a programme of work to review and update them.

We've also been reviewing our stakeholder relationships to ensure we're engaging effectively with organisations most critical to the HTA's work. This analysis will help us to track and share intelligence with other organisations, and to determine where formal Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) might be beneficial to strengthen our partnership working. We will publish these MoUs on our website.

We look forward to working with all our stakeholders over the coming year, and if you have any further feedback or questions please contact us comms.team@hta.gov.uk
