The Human Tissue Authority (HTA) welcomes the conclusion of this case. People and organisations wanting to use human tissue must follow the law. We will involve the police where we think the law has been broken.
Being an Independent Assessor
I was lucky enough to spend the best part of a decade working for the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) in a variety of roles. However, my favourite role (don’t tell the other roles…) was managing the living donation assessment process and overseeing policy implementation in organ donation more widely.

The first womb transplant in the UK has taken place, co-led by surgeons at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust, with approval from the Human Tissue Authority (HTA).
